Linux tips and settings

This is a collection of Linux tips and settings. Nothing new under the sun. Usually just a list commands with a short explanation.

The tips and settings are the result of ordering my Linux annotations. Every now and then I find something worth keeping.  This will result in a post. To make them more accessible for my and to share them with the rest of the world. A bit polished and supplemented with more general information.

The Linux distributions I use most are Ubuntu and RedHat Enterprise Linux. For personal use I sometimes work with Debian and Rasperian.

Sources I often use are the Linux sections of http://serverfault.com/ and http://superuser.com/.

The posts are open to comments. All comments are moderated,  keep them constructive and informative. For Linux discussions use a forum like http://www.linuxquestions.com/.
